From a large batch of sensors only those units are chosen that exhibit <span class=\"s1\">identical measurement characteristics<\/span> \u2014 within an extremely tight tolerance range. These sensors form a \u2018pair\u2019 and are then supplied as a set.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The great advantage: the sensors report <span class=\"s1\">the same<\/span>, minimizing mutual differences. That makes paired sensors ideal for situations where <span class=\"s1\">the difference between two temperatures<\/span> is more important than absolute accuracy.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Why use paired sensors?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p1\">Where a normal sensor can have a small deviation (e.g. \u00b10,3\u00b0C), paired sensors ensure this deviation is <span class=\"s1\">the same<\/span> for both sensors. As a result they measure:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">synchronously<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">consistently<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">comparably<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Without inaccuracies disturbing the measurement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">This is especially important in systems where a small temperature difference already has a large effect on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">energy calculation<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">control behavior<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">efficiency<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Applications of paired sensors<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"p3\">Below are some <span class=\"s2\">practical situations<\/span> where paired sensors really make a difference:<\/p>\n<h3><b>1. Delta-T measurement supply\/return<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\">A system measures the temperature difference between supply and return.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">Supply: 50,0\u00b0C<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Return: 40,0\u00b0C<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">\u0394T = 10\u00b0C<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">If the sensors are not paired, the measurement can become <span class=\"s2\">inaccurate<\/span> due to individual tolerance differences. With paired sets the mutual deviation is virtually zero \u2192 <span class=\"s2\">exact \u0394T<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3><b>2. Heat meter and energy meter installations (EN 1434)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\">Heat meters require the use of <span class=\"s2\">paired temperature sensors<\/span> because energy calculations are extremely sensitive to deviations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Applications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">District heating networks<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Cooling installations<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Heat pumps<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Industry with energy data logging<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>3. Rooms with dual reference measurement<\/b><\/h3>\n<p class=\"p3\">In large rooms or halls two sensors are sometimes used to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">determine an average<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">make the controller operate more stably<\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">prevent hunting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p3\">Paired sensors ensure that both measurements are <span class=\"s2\">equivalent<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h3><b>4.
