Description
Duct Smoke DETECTOR Uniguard UG-5-AFR-230V
Optical duct smoke DETECTOR with automatic sensitivity adjustment, service alarm, and built-in control unit, 230V | UG-5-AFR-230V
Description UG-5-AFR-230V
The Uniguard is developed to detect smoke in ventilation ducts. It consists of a smoke DETECTOR with relay outputs mounted in an adapter system. The tube as well as the housing are specially designed for optimal airflow through the smoke DETECTOR.
The UG-5 can be installed on any side of the duct in four different positions: 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270°. The Uniguard is patented.
Relays:
- Two alarm relays for controlling fire dampers, stopping fans, or activating acoustic and optical alarms, etc.
- One service alarm relay to notify when maintenance is required before a false alarm occurs.
- One system fault relay indicating a malfunction in the smoke DETECTOR circuit.
- One Low-Flow relay indicating low airflow in the duct or that the UG-5 is installed in an unsuitable location on the duct.
The DETECTOR contains an intelligent control circuit. This circuit adjusts the sensitivity to ensure optimal operation throughout the lifespan of the DETECTOR. When the control circuit has reached the maximum sensitivity compensation for contamination, a service alarm is signaled.
Since the duct smoke DETECTOR is equipped with a bayonet lock, it is therefore easy to replace.
Installation
To ensure that the airflow through the adapter is representative of the airflow in the ventilation duct, install the DETECTOR in a location where flow meters, etc., are normally installed; see our installation instructions.
The venturi tube is made of aluminum and can be easily shortened. It can then be adjusted to fit the diameter of the duct. Hole Ø is 38 mm. For insulated/round ducts with mounting bracket, Ø is 51 mm.
After the installation is complete, it is necessary to test the duct smoke DETECTOR. The test is to be carried out with test spray SOLO A5 (from Calectro). A short spray through the test hole in the cover should be sufficient. Replace the plastic plug after the test.
NB: If installation takes place outdoors or in cold attics etc., the DETECTOR must be insulated from the ambient air. For example, with our weatherproof housing UG-COVER-75. In such cases, it is advisable to mark this with a sign “HIDDEN DETECTOR.”
