Description
UG-7-A6O
Optical smoke detector for duct installation, for the American market. High-efficiency single sampling tube | UG-7-A6O
Description UG-7-A6O
Smoke entering the duct system is distributed throughout the building. The Uniguard duct detectors utilize the photoelectric detection method and are designed to detect the presence of smoke in the duct. This housing design and detector technology are capable of detecting unsafe conditions by sampling the air via the duct.
When smoke is detected, the UG-7-A6O will issue a signal that will lead to the urgency to take appropriate action to shut down circulating fans, blowers, and all other auxiliary equipment connected to the system. The measures taken will enable control of hazardous smoke throughout the space protected by the duct detection arrangement.
This Uniguard is available in two models: UG-7-A6O-24V operates with 24V DC/AC and UG-7-A6O-120V with 120V AC. Alarm and supervisory relay contacts are accessible for Interface with control panels, HVAC control, and multiple auxiliary functions, including fan shutdown. The Uniguard can be installed on either side of the duct.
The detector UG-7-A6O includes an intelligent control circuit. This circuit adjusts sensitivity to provide optimal performance throughout the detector’s entire lifespan. When the control circuit can no longer compensate for contamination, a service Alarm is issued.
UG-7-A6O features a coupling function that enables interconnections between up to 100 units. The coupling function can close dampers or stop fans further away in the ventilation system before smoke reaches locations where connected detectors are installed. When any of the linked UG-7-A6O detectors go into smoke Alarm, all other detectors’ AUX relays are activated.
Installation
The Uniguard detector is designed for use in air handling systems with air velocities from 100 to 4000 ft/min (0.5 to 20.32 m/s). Duct widths of 0.15 to 2.8 m are possible.
Follow the technical specifications to ensure that the air velocity in the duct falls within these parameters.
A sampling tube must be ordered to complete the installation. The sampling tube should be approx. 90% of the duct width. The sampling tube is made of aluminum and can be easily shortened to the diameter of the duct. Sampling tube lengths: 1 ft, 2 ft, 5 ft, and 9 ft (0.3, 0.6, 1.5, and 2.8 m).
