Description UG-3-A4O
The Uniguard is developed to detect smoke in ventilation ducts. It consists of a smoke DETECTOR with relay outputs mounted in an adapter system. The tube as well as the housing are specifically designed for optimal airflow through the smoke DETECTOR.
The system meets all requirements for proper fire detection with airflow speeds from 0.2 m/s to 20 m/s.
A venturi tube with auxiliary fan can be used to detect smoke in situations where ventilation is switched off and therefore there is limited airflow in the duct.
Uniguard has a built-in control unit to control fire dampers and fans, or to activate acoustic and/or optical alarms etc.
Since the duct smoke DETECTOR is equipped with a bayonet lock, it is therefore easy to replace.
UG-3-A4O has an intelligent monitoring circuit that continuously checks and adjusts the sensitivity for optimal functionality throughout the entire service life of the DETECTOR. When the duct smoke DETECTOR can no longer compensate for environmental influences, a service alarm is triggered. This indicates that it is time to replace or clean the DETECTOR.
Uniguard Superflow has 4 pre-mounted Clickseal-type IP67 approved cable entries with automatic strain relief for cable diameters 4 – 11 mm.
Installation
The venturi tube is made of aluminum and can be easily shortened. Afterwards it can fit the diameter of the duct. Hole-Ø is 38 mm. For insulated/round ducts with mounting bracket, Ø is 51 mm.
Once the installation is complete, it is necessary to test the duct smoke DETECTOR. The test can be performed with test spray SOLO A5 (from Calectro). A short spray through the test hole in the cover should be sufficient. Replace the plastic plug after the test.
NB: If installation takes place outdoors or in cold attics etc., the DETECTOR must be insulated from ambient air. For example, with our weatherproof housing UG-COVER. In such cases it is advisable to mark this with a sign “HIDDEN DETECTOR”.
